Lawn care throughout the seasons

A fire gone wrong, from a simple overlooking of blowing the leaves away first.  It’s a cool Sunday morning, you’ve just had your eggs and coffee with your family before lacing up your shoes and preparing to head outside; ready to mow the lawn for the last time this summer, enjoying a nice peaceful trimester, until the dawn of a new one begins and it is time to blow the dust off that mower again. Right?  Perhaps you have a Sunday ritual, one that you guys follow every weekend without fail; when I was a kid my father, brother, and I, would each get a different job every weekend: mowing, weed whacking, and power washing and scrubbing the porch. Once we were done with our jobs we would throw some chicken and hamburgers on the grill and cook out and enjoy the day. As the head of my family myself now, I’ve replicated or adopted many of these practices to ensure we could have better quality family time together! But know now, this wouldn’t change just because summer ended and school ...

Lawn Services vs Doing it Yourself

Image
Lawn Services depending on what you are using them for can be costly. Especially when living in certain areas of the country and considering the size of the area you want taken care of. In Ohio you can use lawn services year round with cutting grass, raking leaves, redoing parts of your lawn or landscaping, and finally snow plowing or shoveling.       Typically a grass cutting service can range from $30-$130 for your typical lawn services and not including businesses. If you think about it if you need your grass cut every week or every other week this cost of $30 or more can take a toll on your bank account. When thinking about the option of cutting your own grass, raking your own leaves, and plowing your own snow may be the cheaper option. In the beginning it may be a big cost to get a lawn mower, snow blower, or even the Frosty Chopper but in the end it will save you large amounts of money.       A l awn mowers costs can...

Struggles with Hoarding

Typically garages are used for storage for extra stuff or maybe if you do not need something during a particular season. During spring/summer more than likely your fall/winter items will be stored in your garage to make room in your house and visa versa for fall/winter.  Garages tend to not be the biggest portions of a house but seem to be the most cluttered with stuff. The reason being the most cluttered is because you do not have to look at the mess in the garage unless specifically going in to get something. Typically there will not be any get togethers in your garage. However I seem to always struggle with finding ways to make more space in my garage.  With all the lawn care equipment and products I need to store, along with all the extra stuff I do not want to get rid of, I struggle finding extra space in my garage to store stuff. I don't want to get ride of any of my possessions though.  I am always looking for products or ways to ease up on the clutter I hav...
